Work
What I work on
The areas I spend most of my time in, with the write-ups that go deeper, and what I’ve put on GitHub.
Salesforce architecture and Apex
The Apex Specialist and Advanced Apex Specialist superbadges are as close to real-world Apex work as Trailhead gets. The habits they build are the ones I bring to every org: think like an architect, and plan, test and document as you go.
- Trigger frameworks with handler classes and context-specific logic
- Asynchronous Apex with Queueable classes, structured across transactions
- Bulk-safe code that respects governor limits by habit
- Test strategy built on realistic data, mock HTTP callouts and dependency injection

Integration
Real-world integration is messy: authentication, endpoints and payloads rarely behave as you expect on the first try. Methodical, patient troubleshooting pays off, and so does keeping endpoints and secrets out of Apex.
- Named Credentials for OAuth and certificate-based authentication
- Custom Apex REST and SOAP services with clean, standard error responses
- Apex callouts, tested against mock responses
- Platform Events for event-driven, asynchronous processes

Automation and Agentforce
Agentforce is more than a chat window. Called from a flow, an agent can classify records in the background and hand the answer back, as long as its topics, instructions and permissions are set up with care.
- Record-triggered flows that call Agentforce agents
- Agent topics, instructions and actions designed for the job
- Permission sets for agent users, and tracking each agent session
- Deploying flows that call agents, and the validation errors to expect

Marketing Cloud
Marketing Cloud runs on a different model from core CRM. Knowing where they differ is what makes cross-cloud integration and compliance-driven automation work.
- Subscriber keys, data extensions and Automation Studio
- Journey Builder: entry sources, decision splits and wait activities
- Send classification and CAN-SPAM compliance
- Marketing Cloud alongside Sales and Service Cloud

Security and observability
My background is in IT and security as well as platform development, across tools like Splunk and Citrix. Splunk is still a favourite: it’s widely used, and fun to dig into.
- Splunk server builds and developer licensing
- A homelab on TrueNAS, Dockge and Nginx Proxy Manager

CI/CD and tooling
The old version of this site was published by a pipeline: notes written in Obsidian, built with Hugo and deployed by GitHub Actions, with as little work as possible left to the server.
- GitHub Actions build-and-deploy workflows
- Static sites on GitHub Pages and Cloudflare, including this one

Projects
What’s public on my GitHub. Where a project is a fork of someone else’s, it says whose.
-
cachyos-customization, on GitHub
A backup of my CachyOS system with KDE Plasma: fish shell, KDE, Konsole and GTK settings, and the pacman and AUR package lists. One script syncs the current configs back into the repository; another restores them and installs the packages on a new system, with a dry run to preview it first.
Built with Bash, fish
-
unifi-ddns, on GitHub
Fork of willswire/unifi-ddns
Cloudflare dynamic DNS for UniFi OS, which doesn’t support Cloudflare as a DDNS provider. A Cloudflare Worker provides a UniFi-compatible DDNS API that updates a DNS A record when a UniFi Dream Machine Pro or Security Gateway’s public IP address changes.
Built with JavaScript, Cloudflare Workers, Wrangler
-
proton-drive-sync, on GitHub
Fork of DamianB-BitFlipper/proton-drive-sync
Syncs local files to Proton Drive: a sync daemon with a setup wizard on the command line and a local dashboard to configure and manage it, packaged for macOS, Linux and Docker.
Built with TypeScript, Bun, Proton Drive SDK
